CPRT Parenting Skills Group

FAQs

Child-Parent Relationship Training (CPRT), is an evidence-based practice for parents wanting to improve their connection with their child. CPRT is best suited for children ages 2.5-10 years old. Parents learn how to respond empathically to their child’s feelings, build their child’s self-esteem, help their child learn self-control and self-responsibility, and set therapeutic limits through their child’s play. Loren Riedel, LPC will host this in-person group for parents for 10 weekly meetings.

In 10 weeks, you will learn skills and strategies to help you:

  • Understand your child’s emotional needs

  • Develop your child’s self-control and self-esteem

  • Effectively discipline & limit inappropriate behavior

  • Communicate more effectively with your child

  • Feel more in control as a parent

In 10 weeks, parents report seeing improvement in:

  • Child’s behavior problems

  • Stress in the parent-child relationship

  • Parent-child communication

  • Confidence in parenting skills

From past participants:

“Loren is REALLY good at her job. She listened and did not judge me for the inevitable mistakes I made during the learning process.”

“Every parent should be equipped with what we learned in our CPRT sessions.”

“It was truly a judgement-free zone.”
